Visualisation is believed to encourage activity in the right hand side of your brain If you listen to a description of biting into a lemon, you'll find your taste buds react to the suggestion as if you were biting the lemon for real. Our subconscious mind is very suggestive to thoughts and words and can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality. To really get the full benefit from visualisation, imagining movement, colour, smell, taste and sound will enhance the experience and make it more realistic and therefore more effective |

- Visualisation is best experienced in a quiet place alone
- Clear your mind and relax your body and mind
- Concentrate on your visualisation subject, concentrating your thoughts on this one area
- Breathe deeply and evenly
- Close your eyes and imagine what it would be like to be in your visualisation, looking at it through your eyes
- What are you seeing?
- What do you look like?
- What are you doing and saying?
- What are your senses aware of (colour, smell, sound?)
